§ Legal

Terms of
Service.

Effective date: April 13, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully before using .resume. By creating an account or accessing any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using .resume (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and .resume ("Company", "we", "us"). We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version. Your continued use after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

.resume is a software-as-a-service ("SaaS") platform that provides:

  • AI-assisted résumé creation, editing, and tailoring
  • Job description analysis and keyword matching
  • Automated outreach content generation (cover letters, LinkedIn messages)
  • PDF export and résumé storage
  • Job board aggregation and application tracking

The Service is provided "as is" and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 16 years old
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • You are not prohibited from receiving services under applicable law
  • You will not use the Service from a jurisdiction where such use is prohibited

If you are between 16 and 18, you represent that your legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

4. User Accounts

To access most features you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Not share your account credentials with any third party

We reserve the right to disable any account at our sole discretion if, in our opinion, you have violated any provision of these Terms. Authentication is provided by Clerk, Inc. — their terms apply in addition to ours.

5. Credits and Payments

The Service operates on a credit-based system. Certain operations consume credits as follows:

  • Creating a new résumé: 2 credits
  • Exporting a résumé as PDF: 1 credit
  • AI scoring, tailoring, outreach, and chat features: included at no credit cost, subject to fair-use rate limits

New accounts receive complimentary credits at registration. Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and do not expire for as long as your account remains active.

All purchases — credits and subscriptions — are final. We do not offer refunds, pro-rated returns, or cooling-off periods for digital goods that have been delivered. Full details are set out in our Refund Policy at /refund-policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Nothing in this section removes your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law.

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. Pricing, currency, and applicable taxes are shown at checkout.

We reserve the right to adjust credit costs, add new paid features, or change the credit allocation for any operation with reasonable notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original code, design, trademarks, logos, and content created by us, is and remains the exclusive property of .resume and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any part of the Service.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose during the term of your account. You may not: copy, modify, or distribute the Service; reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code; create derivative works; or sublicence access to any third party.

7. User Content

"User Content" means any résumé text, uploaded files, job descriptions, or other data you submit to the Service. You retain all ownership rights in your User Content.

By submitting User Content, you grant .resume a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and transmit your User Content solely to the extent necessary to provide the Service. We do not use your résumé data to train AI models or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent and warrant that: • You own or have the necessary rights to submit the User Content • Your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights • Your User Content does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or harmful material

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms.

8. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses large language models ("LLMs") provided by third-party providers including Anthropic and OpenAI via OpenRouter to generate résumé edits, scores, outreach messages, and other content.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific circumstances — always review outputs before use
  • We make no warranty that AI-generated résumés, scores, or outreach messages will result in job interviews, offers, or any particular employment outcome
  • The quality and consistency of AI outputs may vary and is subject to the capabilities and availability of third-party model providers
  • You are solely responsible for any content you submit to employers or recruiters, including AI-assisted content generated by the Service
  • AI-generated content does not constitute professional career, legal, or employment advice

Use of AI outputs is entirely at your own risk.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in résumés or applications
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, or connected systems
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without written permission
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial communications ("spam")
  • Circumvent rate limits, credit systems, or other access controls
  • Use the Service in any manner that could disable, overburden, or impair the Service's infrastructure
  • Resell or commercially exploit access to the Service without our written consent

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with or depends on third-party services including:

  • Clerk (authentication) — clerk.com/legal/terms
  • Supabase / PostgreSQL (data storage)
  • Amazon Web Services S3 (file storage)
  • OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI (AI model inference)
  • Upstash Redis (rate limiting)

Your use of these services is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. The Service may link to external websites or resources; we have no control over and assume no responsibility for their content.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described therein.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmitted to or stored on our systems.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") or equivalent legislation. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details.

12. Disclaimers of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: • THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS • THE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME OR LOCATION • ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED • THE SERVICE IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS • ANY RESULTS OBTAINED FROM USE OF THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE

NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED BY YOU FROM US OR THROUGH THE SERVICE, SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL .RESUME, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES
  • DAMAGES RESULTING FROM INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE
  • DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT

WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL CREDITS PURCHASED BY YOU IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $50).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless .resume and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Your User Content
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
  • Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party

This defence and indemnification obligation will survive termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination: • Your right to use the Service will immediately cease • Any unused credits will be forfeited unless required otherwise by applicable law • We may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period in accordance with our Privacy Policy • Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 8 (AI-Generated Content), 12 (Disclaimers), 13 (Limitation of Liability), and 14 (Indemnification)

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard settings. Deletion requests will be processed within 30 days.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which .resume is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to binding arbitration under the rules of a recognised arbitration body in the applicable jurisdiction. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

If any provision of this Section is found unenforceable, the remaining dispute-resolution provisions remain in full force.

17. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where possible, notify registered users via email or an in-app notice.

Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The most current version will always be available at /terms.

18. General Provisions

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and .resume regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign our rights and obligations.

Force Majeure. We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, or infrastructure failures.

These Terms of Service were last updated on April 13, 2026.
